Fischer at WAVV | Jim Fortner Presents

Jim Fortner will present TapeStream™: Complete Tape Management at WAVV in Colorado Springs, CO, Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 10:30 AM in the Centennial Room.

Abstract of the Presentation

"TapeStream™ | Complete Tape Management"

TapeStream™ provides more than full-function tape emulation. Tape images can be automatically scratched (deleted or re-initialized) based on volume serial number, dataset name, creation date, expiration date, size or other factors. FIPS-140 encryption is available as well.

The catalog feature can be used to track datasets written to TapeStream™ tapes by dataset name, volume serial number, creation date, expiration date, jobname or step/phase name. The catalog is maintained using standard SQL, so your installation can easily write custom reports to meet your needs.

The Post-Processing feature allows tape images to be transferred to LAN/SAN storage or other locations, or automatically burned to optical media using a disk publisher. Differential duplication can be automatically launched to reduce the amount of data that needs to be sent to a remote site or archived for recovery.
